A Mother’s Day Message: Who Are We? (from 050609)

From across the country, all mothers’ will be celebrating this special and most favorite holiday. We are a special breed. We are the nurturers; we are the strong and fearless; we are the first persons that our babies bond with when they enter the world. We are the “King-Kong or Elmer’s glue” that helps to keep the family tied cohesively together; we are the footnotes on the bottom of a page…just sitting below the last paragraph on the page to give a little bit more definition. We are the twinkling stars that sit so distantly above the clouds, but who peeps out and zooms in on our children when danger lurks.

We are the Mothers….The Mothers of the World….And our day is every day, so this Sunday was sat aside to give us just a taste of what having “one” day…. I said “one” day off, where we can remove the aprons and suspend writing "things to do" messages on the kitchen blackboard; turn the alarm clock off; throw your beat-up fluffy "pink" house-shoes in the closet; tell our husbands that today he has to take the trash out; and finally get out of the kitchen...and let our hair down >>>>>>>>> AND don't forget.... to put on those 4" heels.

I say: Hurry up Sunday Morning! Smile

Let us all go forward with thanksgiving for being the lovely creatures that we all
are - Simply Beautiful Mothers.

Happy Friday...Have a great weekend (from 042409)

When Albert Einstein was making the rounds of the speaker's circuit, he usually found himself eagerly longing to get back to his laboratory work. One night, while riding to yet another rubber-chicken dinner, Einstein mentioned to his chauffeur (a man who somewhat resembled Einstein in looks and manner) that he was tired of speechmaking.

"I have an idea, boss," his chauffeur said. "I've heard you give this speech so many times. I'll bet I could give it for you." Einstein laughed loudly and said, "Why not? Let's do it!"

When they arrived at the dinner, Einstein donned the chauffeur's cap and jacket and sat in the back of the room. The chauffeur gave a beautiful rendition of Einstein's speech and even answered a few questions expertly.

Then a supremely pompous professor asked an extremely esoteric question about anti-matter formation, digressing here and there to let everyone in the audience know that he was nobody's fool.

Without missing a beat, the chauffeur fixed the professor with a steely stare and said, "Sir, the answer to that question is so simple I will let my chauffeur, who is sitting in the back, answer it for me."

"Never underestimate anything you do. Even the smallest act of kindness can bring God into someone's life. You are God's ambassador, represent Him well."

"We are all on a journey - a journey to become closer to God. But, God is already with us - so it is we who need to do the work to move closer to Him."

Thought for the Day - July 31, 2010

"If you can't get past a roadblock that's in front of you, it might be God's way of telling you to find another route."

Have a fantastic day today everyone!
